Türkiye, Istanbul (Bulgaria?)
Hello World! Today I began my trip across Asia, a one-ride ticket out with no date set for my return! The first stop on my list was Istanbul, so you'll appreciate my confusion when I arrived in Bulgaria!
Our plane wasn’t able to land in Istanbul due to the weather, so we’ve landed at Bulgaria for the meantime. I write this while we refuel and await a better forecast.
My sister, Claud, has come to join me for the first few days here, and see me off on my travels.
She fares much better on planes than I do (after all, she’s an air hostess). Meanwhile, I’ve packed a gazillion travel sickness tablets to see me through.
I have the following rough itinerary in mind for my trip (provided I don’t end up back in Bulgaria each time I fly):
• Turkey
• India
• Thailand
• Laos
• Vietnam
• Cambodia
• Malaysia
• Singapore
• Indonesia
• The Philippines
• Japan
• South Korea
• ?
I built it around a famous route called the banana pancake trail.
Supposedly named for the banana pancakes that are the staple breakfast across the route.
I won’t be following the route exactly, but I’m definitely gonna have me some banana pancakes!

Sidenote, today I learnt Bulgaria has a city called Burgas 🍔
